That’s why we offer our patients a variety of options to address their orthodontic needs. From Invisalign to traditional braces to clear ceramic braces, we have a treatment path perfect for any patient.
Our dentists will work with you to determine which option is best for your lifestyle and budget and will do so in the utmost professional and caring manner. The Babylon Dental Care team has treated our patients like family since 1983 and we’re ready to do the same for you.
What Orthodontic Options Does the Patchogue Office Offer?
The Babylon Dental Care team at the Patchogue Office is proud to offer state of the art orthodontic treatment options, including clear Invisalign braces, clear ceramic braces, traditional braces, and early interceptive treatment. Additionally, because we want your visits to our office to be as comfortable as possible, we offer a number of sedation options to each patient, if requested. From numbing gel to IV sedation, there is a way to achieve a painless visit for everyone.
Clear Invisalign Braces
Many patients choose Invisalign braces because they are clear, comfortable, removable, and accurate. Your dentist will simply take 3D images of your teeth using Invisalign’s iTero Element® scanner and use them to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Once your dentist creates a digital plan for your future smile, they’ll review it with you using 3D images, so you can see the results before you even get started.
Invisalign braces are made with strong, ridged plastic that molds perfectly to your teeth and applies pressure to move your teeth into place. Each aligner is trimmed to fit your gumline, too, so your gums won’t be irritated by the plastic.
- Invisalign braces can fix:
- Crowded teeth
- Overbites
- Underbites
- Crossbites
- Gaps in teeth
- Open bites
- Crooked teeth
Invisalign can even treat younger children’s smiles and prevent issues that might become big problems later in their development. For example, Invisalign can assist the growth of a child’s jaw or arch to make room for permanent teeth, or begin fixing issues with their bite before it gets worse. Ask your dentist if preventive orthodontic treatment is right for your child.
Clear Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are another option for patients who need braces but feel self-conscious about the appearance of metal brackets and wires. These braces are made with a tooth-colored ceramic material that blends in with your smile, so they’re a good option for adults and college students who don’t want to draw too much attention to their teeth. You can even choose tooth-colored wires to make the braces less noticeable.
According to Oral-B, they move your teeth faster than Invisalign. Plus, they may be able to fix more complex problems than clear plastic aligners can. The only downsides of ceramic braces vs. clear aligners is that they stain more easily and cause more soreness. You should consult with your dentist to determine which option will work best for you.
Traditional Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most traditional option for correcting problems with your smile. They work faster than both ceramic braces and clear aligners, are more durable and give your orthodontist more control over making adjustments.
Though they are more noticeable than the other two options, metal braces are the least expensive option, making them a popular choice among our patients. Metal braces are a great option for people who want to make a big change in a shorter amount of time or who play sports and need braces that can hold up to impact.
Metal braces can fix any number of irregularities in the teeth or jaws, even very severe or complex ones, including:
- Overbites
- Underbites
- Crooked teeth
- Overcrowding
- Gaps between teeth
- Other jaw misalignment problems
Early Interceptive Orthodontic Evaluation
If your child is between the ages of 2-6, it’s a great time to visit your dentist for early evaluation. Your dentist can identify any potential problems your child may have and provide a treatment plan to fix them early on so that they don’t develop into bigger orthodontic issues as your child develops.
For example, your dentist can begin correcting for overcrowding, misaligned jaw position, overbite, underbite, and problems with the jaw joint. Though it might seem a bit early to start thinking about orthodontic treatment, getting an early interceptive orthodontic evaluation can reduce the amount of time your child will need to wear braces in the future, which will save you tons of money in the long run.
Painless Orthodontics
As with our general dentistry, the team at Babylon Dental Care is proud to offer all of our patients nitrous oxide, IV sedation, and nearly pain-free injections when requested. We understand that dentist visits might spike some patients’ anxiety, and we want to make sure that everyone has the most comfortable and enjoyable office experience possible.
Each member of the Babylon Dental Care team, from orthodontists to hygienists, is certified to administer nitrous oxide, also known as “sweet air” – and we do it at no extra charge. Let your dentist know if you are fearful of dental treatments, and we will do whatever we can to make your visit a pleasant one – we want to see you back here for regular checkups!
