What is your current position? What location are you currently working from?

I am a Dental Assistant and I work out of both the Gateway Plaza location and the Great South Bay location.

How would you describe our office environment and your team relationships?

I would describe BDC as a very friendly environment. Everyone I work with is so welcoming and great. If I ever have a question everyone is always willing to help.

What are things that you are currently doing in service that bring you joy?

I work mostly with our Board-Certified Periodontist Dr. Knakal. I really love giving our patients the smile of their dreams. Seeing their smile after they get their implants is so rewarding.

Is there a patient experience that has moved you as a wholehearted professional that you would like to share?

There have been many experiences that I have had in my time working here where patients have come in anxious to get their procedure done. I just stay calm and reassure them that everything is going to be worth it. It is rewarding to see the patients calm down and put their trust in you. They are always so happy after the procedure is done.

Anything amazing in working with your BDC Family that you appreciate and let us know if you have found your next true professional home with us?

I love how BDC gives back to their employees. It is great to be with a company that values its employees and shows us how much we are appreciated.

Any service or professional goals for the rest of your first year here with BDC?

I just want to become more comfortable and confident in working in general assisting. I want to be able to be more hands-on. I love to learn about all of the different procedures and I am always interested in getting better at what I do.

Outside of BDC, what are things in your personal life that fills your tank with joy?

I love having a little me time and splurging on myself like going shopping. I also love trying new restaurants and going to concerts. I also love to travel and visit new places.

Having had terrible experiences as a kid with dentistry I wasn't sure if the nice things I've heard and read would live up to my expectation. They offered me several options (a comfort menu) for things I could ask for to help make the time go by easier and with less anxiety.. all for free!
