The dental implant procedure
The first step in the process is to place the implant in the jawbone. We offer options for sedation to keep you feeling comfortable and relaxed during the procedure. After this surgery, some time must pass in order for the implant and bone to bond. You’ll be able to wear a temporary as you wait.
Depending on your individual case, an abutment may need to be placed on the implant. Then, we’ll attach your custom-made crown, bridge, or denture.
Some patients may need to undergo additional procedures before a dental implant can be placed. Such treatments may include socket preservation, ridge modification, or sinus augmentation. These procedures are done to ensure that your implants have a solid foundation.

Why choosing dental implants may be right for you
There are several benefits to choosing dental implants over other treatments to replace missing teeth.
- Dental implants are a natural-looking and a long lasting replacement for missing teeth. They are strong and durable, function just as natural teeth, and allow patients the freedom to eat, speak, and smile without the inconveniences associated with other options.
- Dentures and bridges can lead to bone loss. Dental implants, on the other hand, provide stimulation for the jawbone, keeping the bone healthy.
- Using a dental implant to support a tooth is better for your oral health and allows you to preserve tooth structure. It eliminates the need for the surrounding teeth to be ground down to support the appliance.
- Unlike other tooth replacement options, implants can replace a single missing tooth without relying on the surrounding teeth for support. Even implant-supported bridges do not rely on nearby teeth for support!
